Report from Colorado Tour
David Cobb’s speaking tour in Colorado, from May 20-25, 2011, was an unqualified success.
David gave his riveting presentation, Creating Democracy & Challenging Corporate Rule," in Denver, Boulder, Thornton, Pueblo, Colorado Springs and Ft. Collins.
David’s lectures were well attended (ranging from a small, but focused crowd, of 25 people in Pueblo, to a “standing room only” crowd of 60 people in Denver, to over 100 people at the Boulder Unity Church!), and his message well received, everywhere he went. With spirited, thoughtful, Q & A sessions, David’s presentations often lasted close to two hours.
Colorado Move to Amend made some great media contacts as the result of David’s visit.
A very positive article featuring David, Move to Amend, and local MTA affiliate Boulder Move to Amend, appeared in the Boulder Weekly on May 18, helping to drive up attendance at David’s presentation in Boulder.
Stephen Justino, Co-Chair, Colorado Move to Amend, did pre-tour radio interviews on The Labor Exchange with Dennis Creese, (KGNU, Boulder) and The Scooter McGee Show (KFKA, Greeley), and David did radio interviews on KGNU (Boulder), The Tim Danahey Show (Castle Rock Internet Radio), and The Scooter McGee Show (KFKA, Greeley).
Additionally, David taped a segment of The Tim Caffrey Show (Comcast TV Channel 97, Ft. Collins) that will air in about 2 weeks.
As a direct result, of the tour, we have added over 250 names to the Move to Amend petition, and we now have two brand new MTA affiliates – one in Ft. Collins and one in Colorado Springs!
